Recent years have seen great advances in countries across the world in the march towards equality for members of the LGBT community – same sex marriage is legally recognized in 26 countries while openly LGBT politicians now occupy leadership roles. However, there is still work to be done. Those who identify as LGBT continue to face discrimination, repression, and worse in many societies around the world.
